our story

our story

Oh hey there!

Why Clay and Croissants you ask?

Well let us introduce ourselves, we are Jessica and Maddi.

Just two friends with big dreams who are always inspired by travel, rural living, art and design. You will often find us collaborating on ceramic projects for both functional and decorative purposes and have maybe found us together at a market or two in the past 12 months.

Jessica’s powerhouse brand is called Georgie Porge Designs. She has been bringing to life beautiful ceramic pieces along side deliciously smelling authentic soy wax candles. Jess doesn’t stop there though, she also brings a wealth of knowledge in the interior design space servicing clients locally and abroad that encourages sustainable design and modest living.

Maddi’s emerging label, Maddison David Ceramics, currently specialises in custom order pieces inspired by her generational relation to pottery. Her work features odes to the local flora surrounding her childhood property. She hopes one day to build the brand as a household kitchen luxury.

Clay and Croissants was born out of a spontaneous trip to Provence, France and a crazy (some might say obsessive) passion for ceramics.

When away in Provence last year, the creative ideas exploded in our little brains, having the chance to explore new surroundings and cultures provided us the opportunity not only to reset from our normal day to day lives back home but also inspire and let our imaginations run absolutely wild.

We are both ‘yes’ people, always on the go and onto the next big project. I think what we all crave is just a chance to stop and smell the roses.

Clay and Croissants encourages you to do just that, you can stop and smell the roses and the croissants while you are at it! Meanwhile learning to create a bespoke piece of ceramic art for your home that is both functional, beautiful and importantly handmade by you!
